A successful race weekend under challenging conditions: BASINOL® brand ambassador Kevin Rohrscheidt and teammate Maxi Tarillion secured two podium finishes in the McLaren Trophy Europe at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Competing in the McLaren Artura Trophy EVO with British racing team Paddock Motorsport, the duo finished third and second in the PRO-AM category on 3–4 October 2026.
Strong Start with a Podium Finish on Saturday
The opening race on Saturday already demonstrated the team’s competitive pace. Kevin Rohrscheidt took the start and quickly made progress through the field before handing the car over to Maxi Tarillion. Building on a consistent first stint, Tarillion maintained the team’s strong position and brought the McLaren home in third place in the PRO-AM category.
Weather conditions added an extra challenge throughout the weekend. Heavy rain and severe storms caused significant disruptions to the event schedule, including delays and the cancellation of Sunday’s practice and qualifying sessions.
Despite the unpredictable weather, both races took place in dry conditions, allowing the drivers to push their cars to the limit.
Impressive Comeback and Intense Final-Lap Battles
Sunday’s second race became one of the highlights of the weekend.
Following a dramatic opening phase and several position changes, Kevin Rohrscheidt took over the McLaren from Maxi Tarillion in fifth position in the PRO-AM category.
What followed was one of Rohrscheidt’s strongest race performances to date. With consistent lap times, determined overtaking moves and excellent racecraft, he worked his way through the field and climbed into second place.
The closing stages demanded everything from the BASINOL® brand ambassador. Under relentless pressure from the cars behind, Rohrscheidt defended his position for numerous laps, holding off repeated attacks while maintaining his pace and composure.
After an intense battle until the chequered flag, he secured second place and another well-deserved podium finish for the team.
